The new "North-East Industrial&
Investment Promotion Policy 2007" (NEIIPP) came to effect from April
1st, 2007. The Policy would surely contribute towards accelerating the pace of
Industrialization in the region and aims to promote a process of inclusive growth
and development. The key features of NEIIPP 2007 are as follows: (a)
Liberal Fiscal Incentives for 10 years to all 8 NE States;
inclusion of Sikkim for the first time. (b)
Incentives to be available to all industrial units, new
as well as existing on their substantial expansion, located anywhere in the NE
Region. (c)
Excise Duty exemption to be continued on finished products
made in NE.
(d)
Capital Investment Subsidy increased from 15% to 30%. (e)
Transport Subsidy to continue. (f)
Incentives extended to Service Sectors like Toruism,
Power generation Industry, Biotechnology, Hotel, Adventure and Leisure Sports
including Ropeways, Medical & Health Services in the nature of Nursing Home,
Old Age Home, Vocational training Institute such as Hotel Management, Catering
& food Crafts, Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Nursing & Para
Medical Institute, Civil Aviation related to training, Fashion Design & Industrial
Training. (g)
Re-imbursement of 100% Insurance Premium under Comprehensive
Insurance Scheme for new & existing units. (h)
100% Income Tax exemption to continue.
(i)
Interest Subsidy @3% on Working Capital
to be continued. ---- NEIIPP
2007 would play an instrumental role in boosting development of the region
and would provide a congenial atmosphere to new industries. |
