INTEGRATED INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT (IID) CENTRE, Rangia

Infrastructure facilities are the basic needs for the development of industries and economic activities. For promotion and strengthening of Small Scale Industrial activities, tiny enterprises and Technological back up services and to foster linkage between Agriculture & Industry the Govt. of India vide their notification no. F.No.2 (1)/90 Plg. Dated New Delhi the 7th March 1994 had introduced the scheme of Integrated Infrastructural Development Centers initially at some selected backward districts of the country. As per the policy direction of Govt. of India, an IID project at Rangia in the district of Kamrup, Assam had been conceived to cater to the need of the rural entrepreneurs.

Infrastructural development work of IID Centre Rangia is in progress and expected to be completed by 31/12/07 in all respect. It is located on an ideal location by the side of N.H-31, which is being developed as 4-land under East -West corridor Scheme of G.O.I. Road distance is 46 km from Guwahati and 6.okm from Rangia town (Sub-Div. Head Quarter). The EPIP (Export Promotional Industrial Park) located around 25K.M from the IIDC Rangia project site.

Investors from outside the state as well as from inside the state shown keen interest to set up their units at IIDC, Rangia. As good as 23 numbers of proposals for allotment of land have been cleared and their products vary from plastics to steel, chemicals, Agricultural implements to electrical etc.

INTEGRATED INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT (IID) CENTRE, Banderdewa, Lakhimpur

Under the Govt. of India's notification no F, No.- 2 (I) 90 Plg dtd. New Delhi the 17th. March, 1994 the Scheme Integrated Infrastructure Development Centre (IIDC) has been introduced.

Aims & objects - Following are the aims & objects of the IIDC scheme.

i. To develop infrastructural facilities in the rural areas to ensure industrialization. Particular emphasis has been given for development of agro industries sector to lift the economic condition of farmers.
ii. To promote linkages between agricultural trades & industries.
iii. To ensure cluster growth of rural economic activities supported by well conceived infrastructural facilities in the IIDC.

In the back ground of the above stated policy Govt. of India has accorded sanction the IIDC project at Banderdewa under the Dist. Lakhimpur (Assam) in the year 2005.

Scope of the Project - The IIDC, Banderdewa is in the Lakhimpur District of Assam. It is on the National High way - 52 connecting North Lakhimpur the district Head Quarter in one side and Itanagar the state Capital of Arunachal Pradesh on the other side. Banderdewa is the gateway of Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh). It is 35 Kilometers from the Banderdewa. The Lilabari Air Port is located at a distance of 65 KM and Harmuty Railway Station 6.00 KM from the Banderdewa IID Centre.

Infrastructural facilities - Infrastructural facilities like Land development, Road communication, Electric Power, Water Supply, Post office, Bank, Telecommunication will be provided at IIDC, Banderdewa. Presently Land development work is in progress. Works relating to other components will be started soon after ongoing monsoon season. Several nos of applications demanding land for allotment have been received.
